Where: Plenary Room, Colorado Convention Center, Denver, Colorado

La Isla Network CEO and co-founder Jason Glaser will speak about the health effects of climate change, especially heat, at the AAAS Annual Meeting. The plenary session is titled “Global Warming and Health,” and will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 5:15-6:30 pm at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

The AAAS Annual Meeting convenes leading scientists, educators, policymakers, and journalists to discuss cutting-edge developments in science. This year’s theme is “Toward Science Without Walls,” which envisions a world where the scientific enterprise is not impeded by blockades—large or small, intentional or inadvertent.

La Isla Network, as an organization composed of leading scientists in heat stress and generating innovations to protect workforces and supply chains from heat stress, is honored by the AAAS’s invitation.

“Glaser said, “It is refreshing to see our peers recognize the barriers La Isla Network and its partners had to overcome in bringing the vanguard issues of heat stress and chronic kidney disease of non-traditional causes to such a prestigious organization. Thank you to the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and to Science Magazine.”

The plenary session will be moderated by Meredith Wadman, Science reporter. Glaser will speak alongside journalist Vaishnavi Chandrashekhar, Dr. Erin Mordecai, Ph.D., and Dr. Ana Bonnell, Ph.D. To learn more about the AAAS Annual Meeting, click here.

La Isla Network generates data-driven organizational change management and workforce protection protocols to address occupational injuries and illnesses and labor issues throughout the entire supply chain. In the changing climate, workers are more at risk than they ever have been. Heat stress, trafficking, forced labor, and child labor are often interconnected. They pose ever greater risks to workers and businesses. We understand this and address this. Through our world class global research, La Isla Network has learned what it takes to keep workers safe.
