Organization Description:
La Isla Network (LIN) is a US-based NGO working at the intersection of climate change and occupational health comprised of an international, interdisciplinary team of researchers, public health practitioners and professionals in the fields of occupational and environmental epidemiology and medicine, occupational safety and health, sports physiology, nephrology, economics, anthropology, organizational and clinical psychology, law and policy, and communication. Together we are generating, supporting, and executing evidence-driven solutions to address heat stress and to end the fatal Chronic Kidney Disease of non-traditional origin (CKDnt) epidemic by understanding the scale and impact of the disease and its causes. In the process, we are improving work conditions and supporting the creation and enforcement of policies required to protect those affected using data-driven recommendations.
LIN has several research and implementing programs operating in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras involving community level and occupational level risk assessment related to CKDnt and other occupationally acquired illnesses and injuries. We also have programs launching in Nepal and Europe.
As we continue to grow, the demand for robust technical operations framework, data security, and innovative technology solutions is critical. We are looking for a talented and dedicated Data Technical Officer to join our interdisciplinary team.
