LIN’s Evan Watson has been elected to the Bonsucro Members’ Council, responsible for advising the Bonsucro Board of Directors and providing members’ input.
Bonscruo is the leading global sustainability platform and standard for sugarcane. It includes over 270 members from 50 countries, representing almost 30% of all sugarcane planted globally.
The Bonsucro Members’ Council includes representatives from civil society, industry, and intermediary groups, all interested in providing input and expertise to the Bonsucro Board of Directors to inform the organization’s strategic direction.
Along with LIN Senior Epidemiologist Ineke Wesseling on the Bonsucro Technical Advisory Board, we are in an even stronger position to create a more just, safe, and successful sugar industry that prioritizes the health and dignity of workers upon whom the entire industry relies. What we build towards in this sector will apply to others such as banking and construction that we are working with globally to protect workers in a warming world.
