The film “PREP for Change” has entered the final round of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) Community Film Event.
The event showcases the best films raising awareness and improving understanding of the reality of living with kidney disease. The film is one of six finalists choses by an international jury.
“PREP for Change” demonstrates how worker protection protocols from extreme heat are saving workers’ lives from kidney disease in the sugarcane industry. With a cohort of leading researchers on heat stress, La Isla Network and Ingenio San Antonio in Nicaragua are leading the world in modeling how to protect workers from exposure to extreme heat, thus preventing fatal kidney disease. The film was produced by La Isla Network and Talking Eyes Media, and funded by the EU ENBEL project.
