La Isla Network and VigiLife are announcing a strategic partnership to protect workers from occupational safety and health hazards like heat stress.
The partnership represents a significant step forward in keeping workers safe and healthy. By leveraging VigiLife’s guardian technology and software known as SafeGuard®, and LIN’s on-the-ground expertise through its Triple-A program of Assess, Address and Assist, the organizations are maximizing their joint impact in the field of occupational safety and health on a worldwide scale.
The partnership is mutually beneficial and complementary to each organization’s work. During its on-site assessments, LIN will use SafeGuard as a tool, to aid in the identification of gaps in the design and implementation of occupational health practices and to assist in the implementation of improved protocols. Once a workplace has been assessed, and gaps in protocols and organizational management have been addressed, LIN’s team moves onto the next project. SafeGuard remains at the worksite, however, continuing to assist LIN and the company in the ongoing monitoring of key worker and workplace metrics. This model ensures workers and workplaces remain safe, starting with preventing heat-related and other occupational injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
VigiLifes couples its guardian technology and software, SafeGuard®, with virtually any wearable or static sensor to continually evaluate worker safety and health. Because of their sensor-agnostic approach, SafeGuard is compatible with leading sensor brands, including Garmin watches, Polar heart rate monitors, and Kestrel environmental sensors. Safeguard consolidates and displays data from multiple sensors onto a single platform, enabling the comprehensive assessment of workforce conditions and environmental hazards, and facilitating informed decision-making for worker safety & health and organizational efficiency optimization.
VP of Development and Engagement for LIN Robert Thomma said, “Alerting a safety leader to a dangerous condition is helpful, but when an alert system is combined with protocols and systems to prevent harm from injuring workers on a continuous basis with ongoing monitoring, then it’s far more powerful. That is what we achieve with LIN and VigiLife working together.”
Vigilife CEO and Co-founder Zachary Kiehl said, “Safety, wellness and operations teams cannot fully protect their people and optimize wellness and productivity without a complete view of their human capital. VigiLife’s SafeGuard® provides intelligent guardian technology to (1) ensure worker health & safety, (2) empower organizational productivity & efficiency and (3) certify corporate responsibility & sustainability.”
Beyond immediate business ventures, both organizations are poised to integrate their expertise into future opportunities, underscoring their collective commitment to advancing workplace safety standards.
The partnership between La Isla Network and VigiLife is a promising advancement in the realm of workplace safety and health, where innovation in technology and evidence-based, context-specific interventions converge to protect workers, promote well-being and drive sustainability initiatives. The collaboration is set to make a meaningful impact on safety and health practices across industries.
